About a year back Ishaan was enrolled in the inclusive vocational training programme at Saahas Foundation. We observed his interest in learning art and craft skills; continued to engage him in the simple act of tracing over different types and designs of stencils using pencil along with other vocational activities, which rendered a huge improvement in the fine motor skills, creativity, attention span and precision.
Ishaan’s engagement with art has given control over his own learning experience, also a great means of illustration opening avenues of him communicating his thoughts and feelings in a more expressive manner.
Saahas produces recycled paper products; the pictures demonstrate Ishaan’s first independent assignment of pencil sketch over gift envelopes which are later converted into multi-colour – designs of the moment.
